'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith resumes clash with City.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he reminisces about the thrilling closing stages of his team's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear following the pitch-side pile-on.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful shot from 25 yards, and his teammate promptly slammed home the deflection before sprinting toward the crowd to mark the goal, with fans mobbing the players.

Stunning Reversal

This completed an unbelievable recovery given the team had trailed 2-0 midway through the latter period. In the euphoria, there was some unintended consequences. The midfielder recalled, "There was a supporter trying to get our attention and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The result booked a upcoming fixture at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the same stage of the FA Cup with the London side in February. Galbraith had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's long-range effort from about long distance going in via the bar and the opposition keeper. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've given it to him for attempting the shot from that far out," commented Galbraith, who began the game centrally before shifting to right wing-back after Orient changed shape. That meant getting to grips with City's winger, with whom he swapped shirts, and the player was among the Manchester squad who complimented the way Orient approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the basics and basic skills, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they know how to manage and neutralize a game. You can think you're doing well and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be focused every second of the game. It demands a tough attitude and focus just to remain competitive."

New Chapter

The Welsh side were keen on Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to bring him in in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a popular figure across two seasons at his former club and has quickly done the same in his new home. At Orient he linked up again with the coach, who earlier gave Galbraith his first extended run in professional games on loan at a League One side from Old Trafford. Then came a loan at League Two Salford, before he permanently left Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was perhaps a somewhat inexperienced going into senior level. I think many athletes would say youth team games is very different. Sometimes it seems play is circulated without much intensity. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adjust fast."

International Recognition

He has shown that development for his team and nation, excelling for his national side, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has featured in the past five games, including home and away games against Germany. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's former international manager, paid him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This marks a remarkable path for the kid from the Queens Park estate in Glengormley, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who used to see his dad, Stuart, also a midfielder, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

His only game for United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to Astana, where they played on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was closed owing to conditions of -15C. "That proved to be a lengthy journey and it was freezing," he recalls, smiling. "The preceding week, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and earn some playing time at the end was unbelievable."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged 16? "This turned out relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I realized I wouldn't break through at the top level. I'm hugely grateful for the experience gained but it became apparent where I believed I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play professional soccer. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

New Environment

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at late afternoon: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed player transport, a small coach driven by club employees, the transport team, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include Gonçalo Franco, another squad member, the midfielder – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's nice to spend time with the lads but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual to stop using the bus and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player enjoys practical jokes; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

When he represented his former club, Galbraith would blend in with fans on public transport after commuting at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
